Tucker Carlson: Violent Criminal Illegals Now a ‘Protected Class’ in California

Illegal aliens – including violent criminals – have become a protected class in California, Fox News host Tucker Carlson declared Tuesday, reacting to the state’s new sanctuary policy:

“It doesn’t matter even if they have a history of crime, even violent crime. In California, illegal aliens are now a protected class. And even more significant, the state itself is now in direct opposition to this country’s most basic laws.”

Carlson listed several ways California’s laws give special treatment to illegal aliens:

“All police statewide in California are banned from asking about a suspect’s immigration status or cooperating with federal immigration officials. Landlords are banned from reporting the legal status of their tenants.  Colleges can’t monitor the immigration status of the kids they enroll.

“These new measures augment the state’s many existing laws – all designed to enable illegal immigration.

“Illegals in California already are entitled to receive a driver’s licenses, in-state college tuition, free healthcare for their children and more. They don’t need to have a job; they don’t have to know English.”

By its “open defiance of the federal government,” California has taken one more step toward secession, Carlson said, comparing it to the time Alabama’s governor rejected federal desegregation laws:

“This country’s largest state has taken another dramatic step towards disunion. An open defiance of the federal government. As of yesterday, California is now a sanctuary state. It’s the nation’s first.

….

“Fifty-five years ago this month, Governor George Wallace took his oath of office and pledged resistance to federal authority – effectively declaring Alabama its own country. You know the history.

“Well, Governor Jerry Brown of California has done something similar this week.”

The Sanctuary State Law explained in 200 Seconds.

On January First, the California Sanctuary State Law went into effect.

It prohibits local police officers from cooperating with Federal Law Enforcement in deporting most illegal alien criminals.

Some say “It’s OK to protect illegal alien criminals from deportation, they’re just good people who made a mistake. We don’t want to break up families.”

They’ve been told that non-citizens commit fewer crimes. A recent study proves this to be incorrect.

Many think that Kate Steinle was the first person ever killed by an illegal alien in the United States. Sadly, over 40,000 people preceded her.

But when you investigate further, you learn of the tremendous loss of life, property damage and economic harm caused by illegal aliens who come to our country and commit crime after crime.

Unlike industrial accidents or natural disasters, these are 100% preventable.

Here are the facts…
Illegal aliens in the US are estimated to number over 11 million, which represents 3.5% of the total population. In California it’s 7%.

It is estimated that 42,000, or 22% of all California prison inmates are illegal aliens.

On average, each inmate has committed 8 offenses accounting for over 330,000 convictions. Since only 22% of crimes are ever solved, these 42,000 inmates in California may be responsible for as many as 1.8 million crimes.

As of 2014, illegal immigrants were convicted and sentenced for over 13 percent of all crimes committed in the U.S. This is almost four times their percentage of the population.

75 percent of all criminal defendants convicted and sentenced for federal drug offenses were illegal aliens.

Research shows that U.S. taxpayers are paying nearly $19 million a day to house and care for convicted criminal aliens who are eligible for deportation.

A study estimated that “there are approximately 240,000 illegal alien sex offenders in the United States.”

ICE runs a program, “Operation Predator,” which targets foreign nationals who commit sex crimes against children. To date, more than 10,000 individuals have been arrested.

Unlicensed drivers kill 7,500 people a year. Illegal aliens are responsible for a little over half of that total.

Injuries in motor vehicle incidents totaled 4.3 million in 2013, costing over $288 billion.

Most will agree that the vast majority of illegal immigrants coming to the United States want work hard and build a better life.

It is not anti-immigrant to be anti-Criminal.

The California Sanctuary State law allows illegal alien criminals to continue to commit crimes of robbery and homicide, sell drugs, overcrowd our prisons, be sexual predators to our children and kill innocent Americans with habitual drunk driving.

We must act now to repeal the Sanctuary State law. Sign the petition to get on the ballot, and then vote in November to end it once and for all.

Supporters of SB 54, the Sanctuary State Law, call it the California Values Act. Californians do not value giving sanctuary to predatory criminals.
