REFERENDUM PROCESS

The SB 54 Referendum is a legal process overseen by the State of California that will repeal (terminate) the sanctuary state law before it is enacted. By law, the process starts on the day that the Governor signs the bill into law. In this case, that was October 5th, 2017.

The proponents (us) have only 90 days, from the date signed, to file the referendum, to raise money to pay for the referendum, to have petitions designed and printed, to get petitions sent all across the state, to get at least 366,000 VALID signatures of registered voters in the state of California and then to get all the petitions back to us, so we can then organize them and get them sent to each voter’s county, so that the county clerk can validate the signatures. By law, only the proponent (us) is allowed to turn in petitions to the counties.

THE LAW DISCOURAGES US FROM WASTING THE TIME AND RESOURCES OF GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. IF WE ARE SHORT ON SIGNATURES, THEY WILL NOT BE SENT IN TO EACH COUNTY FOR VALIDATION – THANK YOU!

In the case of SB54, Kevin De Leon, the author of the bill, made sure to make the law several pages long so that a referendum would be especially difficult. Referendum petitions must include a copy of the entire law, as well as spaces for signatures.

Furthermore, there will be many people and organizations trying to throw a wrench into our plans. They will try to accomplish this by creating chaos and confusion. They will do this by telling more lies and using fear tactics to scare people.

Most referendums fail due to lack of organization. Please help us keep this on track and stay focused!

Official information related to the referendum can and will change rapidly. Please make sure to refer to our official website and Facebook page for that information. We do NOT have any Facebook groups.

There is no official merchandise, stickers, t-shirts, etc. for this referendum. If someone is trying to sell you something related to the referendum, just keep in mind that every dime that is diverted away from our referendum, puts us further away from our goal.

Our first 90 days, which has already started, will be used only to raise money and collect signatures. Once we have accomplished that, we will have almost a year to “sell” the referendum to the public. If successful, we will be on the ballot in November of 2018.

If you want to take back our state, please donate and help us raise money NOW.
